VROOOM VROOOM [2001] - King Crimson
No possible justification for leaving the blog launched so long (since September last year) I'm not going to promise that I will start posting here more often, because they probably can not keep. I'll just do what I can. At the end of the nonexistent
our readers appreciate that we have become (even a little bit).
And what better way to get back to publishing this great album from one of the largest (and least known) groups in the history of progressive rock: King Crimson. Banda foundation where they are, what has distinguished this group over the 40 years since its foundation is the great variety of musicians who have passed through it, and constantly changing in style, making it more than a rock band, an institution. And this institution has been maintained over time because of the endlessly creative guitarist Robert Fripp
, whom we have spoken here.
This time I present a live double album, recorded between June 30, 1995 and August 4, 1996. Contains recordings of concerts in Mexico City, New York and Los Angeles, made by the formation of double trio, comprised of Fripp, Adrian Belew
,
Trey Gunn, Tony Levin, Bill Bruford and Pat Mastelotto. Talk about each of them separately and require a special post (and will).
This is perhaps one of the most impressive conformations of the history of the band, by his virtuosity and complexity. Whether playing classical repertoire of the band (
Red ,
Lark's tongues in aspic , or the great song that is
21st Century Schizoid Man ), the material of their latest albums or performing breathtaking improvisations, versatility and quality of these musicians on the stage is fully demonstrated.
(The double trio, playing Elephant Talk, Discipline disk ) Without more, one of the best live albums that server has heard.
